SYNERGX, a world leader renowned for its high-precision glass inspection systems for the automotive and architectural industries, is proud to unveil the latest innovation from its R&D lab and manufacturing facility: PLANX, a glass flatness measurement system.

PLANX measures the overall bow, roller wave, and edge lift with unprecedented precision, repeatability, and speed.

The PLANX system has been developed with simplicity, flexibility, and versatility in mind. Roller wave can be measured according to Bar And Feeler Gauges (Roller Wave EN12150), 3-Point Contact or Flat Bottom Gauge (Roller Wave ASTM 1651) methods and standards, with configurable ruler length and width and glass edge margin. Edge lift measurement also has a configurable ruler width and edge margin. An overall view of the shape of the glass is shown as a heatmap.

The PLANX is built on the same proprietary platform that powers SYNERGX’s proven inspection systems. As such, it also supports glass and paint inspection, and metrology, making it a comprehensive, all-in-one solution. Fully automated, PLANX is typically installed after the tempering furnace on both existing and greenfield production lines, and supports glass widths of up to 3,200 mm.
