The SURFX PAINT family of glass inspection systems is part of the fully automated zero-defect glass inspection solutions designed specifically for flat glass.
All SYNERGX PAINT systems are designed to be installed inline in the production process, as part of the early production stage for quality assurance.
The PAINT systems withstand full production speeds.
While the PAINT systems are designed and can be used for a wide range of glass manufacturing applications, they are mainly used in the automotive manufacturing industry.
All PAINT systems inspect painted and non-painted glass surfaces. The glass can be of any shape and size, with light transmissivity from 5.6% to 92%. Paint elements such as paint bands, fade bands, heat/antenna lines, screen positions, printing borders, logos, and paint openings (including camera and VIN zones), can be inspected for defects. Glass defects including broken glass, incorrect light transmissivity, inclusion, scratches, distortion, hole edge and glass edge defects are also detected and reported. Tolerances for each individual defect can be set to accommodate various quality requirements. A dual model mode enables the inspection of two different glass models within the same production run. The inspection results include a global pass/fail result and include a detailed inspection report of every defect with is classification, position, and size. The user interface allows the operator to zoom in on the results for a more accurate and detailed view.
This family of systems is comprised of two main products that can accommodate most installations and inspection requirements: the SURFX PAINT and the SURFX PAINT 2000 TOP REFLECT.
The SURFX PAINT inspects flat glass up to 2000 mm wide on a horizontal conveyor. Its telecentric optics and lighting provide a consistent and accurate view of defects, offering high-sensitivity detection of paint and glass defects. The SURFX PAINT integrates into existing horizontal conveyors, short or long edge leading glass orientation, and has a small footprint on the production line. Each production run can comprise one or two different glass models. For smaller glasses, some SURFX PAINT models are also capable of side-by-side (two glasses at a time) inspection. The SURFX PAINT is typically used for all automotive glass inspection. It is also used for complete paint inspection of appliance glass.
The SURFX PAINT 2000 TOP REFLECT inspects flat glass with a width up to 2000 mm on a horizontal conveyor. Its telecentric optics and lighting provide a consistent and accurate view of defects, offering high-sensitivity detection of paint and glass defects. The SURFX PAINT 2000 TOP REFLECT also includes a reflective channel to inspect the silver print used for heating wires and antennas that is applied on the glass and above the paint. The SURFX PAINT 2000 TOP REFLECT integrates into existing horizontal conveyors, short or long edge leading glass orientation, and has a small footprint on the production line. Each production run can comprise one or two different glass models. For smaller glasses, the SURFX PAINT 2000 TOP REFLECT is also capable of side-by-side (two glasses at a time) inspection. The SURFX PAINT 2000 is typically used for all automotive glass inspection. It is also used for complete paint inspection of appliance glass.
With multiple installations worldwide, the SURFX PAINT line of products provides flat glass manufacturers the capability to reliably assure glass quality to their end customers and optimize their production yields via process optimization and reduced inspection labour.
